I am doing passages in this book now. I have some issues with this book
I finished the blue cover Kaplan verbal excercise book, and some of the EK passages. compared to the kaplan, the passages in the hyperlearning are much easier to understand. However, the questions are ridiculous. it does not follow the pattern i have seen with the kaplan, EK and AAMC practice test. for example, the extreme answers are ususally, but it is sometimes correct in the hyperlearning verbal. I also dont agree with these "correct" answers in this book.

I am doubting that this book is misleading and overrated. any opinions?

I'm confused by your last sentence. Do you mean, you are doubting them and think they are misleading and overrated?

One option is to check with TBR, they have a new edition out for 2011. Also, another company, GS has a verbal program with passages. It is pricey though. Their passages were apparently not very good. However, they revamped the passages and questions just recently, having fixed the problems in the previous set, and it is supposed to be good now. I have not used it myself, so I cannot give you a valid review. See if there is any more info on it. Maybe it will be just what you need.

Ok i did some passage again. this time it is a bit better. I got average one question wrong for every passages.

Still the questions in the hyperlearning verbal is hard, but the passage itself is relatively easy

I actually feel TPRH passages are harder than EK and AAMC but questions are easier. Guess it really depends on each person.
