according to kaplan there are 7 hormones that are released by the anterior pituitary... FSH, LH, ACTH, TSH, PROLACTIN, ENDORPHINS, and GH

now, all the other are controlled by a relasing hormone from the hypothalamus with the exception of prolactin which is controlled by an inhibitory hormone (PIF); however, the book never mentions a releasing or inhibitaroy hormone released by the hypothalamus for endorphins made/released by the anteritor pituitary.

does such a thing exist? if not how is it controlled?
