I studied with cliff ap bio and kaplan blue book.
I heard that many people are saying mastering schuam's bio is key for bio section of real dat.
Because of that, I went to Barnes and nobles today and checked out the schuam's bio. Oh... Man!... That book was so dry but it has good details. However, I decided not buying that book because I knew I could not finish reading that book before my DAT. Therefore, I wanna ask for those who already finished with their DAT and only prepared by cliff notes and Kaplan blue book, NOT SCHUAM'S BIO. How do you feel about bio section when you guys faced with bio section of real DAT?
I hope i am in good shape..... Please.

Thanks in advance.

Kaplan bio...is...HORRIBLE. I mean absolutely BARE BONE outline, which doesn't even cover half of the information pertaining to freshman level biology (did you notice the lack of information on the photosynthetic pathways...?!)

I love how Kaplan summarizes photosynthesis (the complex process that most college courses cover over a period of 1-2 weeks) in one small paragraph. Some Kaplan sections are well written and give you exactly what you need to know without the fluff. Other times it seems as if they're writing summaries for elementary school.

I used Destroyer and Cliffs exclusively for Bio and i got a 19 on that section, and that was going in having absolutely 0 prior bio knowledge. If you have any clue in biology those two are more than enough.

Yeah I am near the end of my studies and im using the same sources...im decently worried. also by Kaplan do you mean only the book or the online sources as well? Im using online which is pretty close to cliffs, but im worried! But then again im worried about the whole test...

i used kaplan bio, destroyer bio, ts bio, achiever bio, cliffs AP bio (GREAT).
Got 21 on bio. best bet: kaplan for foundation, memorize cliffs AP, read sections on schaums that u think are too shallow in cliffs. ur good to go. also i know schaums is GREAT for RC.

Does schaums have practice for RC? Do you mean it has practice passages? Where can I get it? Thanks!!

sorry i should have been more clear. the way schaums bio is structured in their lectures on bio subjects is pretty similar to the reading passages on the dat. that is to say, the outlining and structure of schaums bio is HORRIBLE and not an easy read LOL. but the bio information is all there. so if you can get through schaums, you can get through rc no problem.
