Hello,
So as you can see, I am new to SDN. I have been a reader for about six months I would say though. I wanted to wait until I was accepted to my university, and was officialy a "pre-med." Some how in all my six months of reading I never came across the non-trad section. But I just happen to click on the last week, and it is SO much better than pre allo. Don't want to start any trouble or anything. But I read the sticky http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=576574 (Things I wish I knew at the beginning) and realized that this is the place for me. Before reading that I thought I noticed that pre allo posters seemed a bit young, but mostly I noticed how cocky and arrogant, and subsequently naive they come off as.

Anyway, again, not trying to start anything. But, I am happy I found this section. It is much more constructive, and I feel like I have learned more in the past week of reading on here, then in six months of the other. And I am looking forward to being a part of this section for the next 3-4 years!

PS I just wanted to post this to let you guys know that I think this section is great, and you really are making a difference. It is EXTREMELY inspirational, and informative!

welcome to the kinder, gentler SDN
always avoid pre-allo, I made the mistake of trying to participate, huge mistake
good luck to ya

welcome. This place is pretty good, I also like oldpremeds.org . I don't think i'd be here if it wasn't for the underdog thread and a few residents i've met who beat the odds.

I agree, pre-allo can be rough, but for some of the young non-trads, it can have some relevant topics in it that don't show up here.

:welcome:Both forums can have its good and bad days. You will learn to weed through what is most helpful to you. Anyhow, hope you stay awhile and much success for the future. 🙂
