Hello, I am starting to study for DAT and have couple of questions. Though I read the study schedule posted by dentalWorks, this was written in 2010, so I wonder using books suggested by him or her is good enough.

1. I have old KBB and it's 2007~2008 edition. Considering that I will be reading AP Bio Cliff note, do I have to buy 2009~2010 version or the latest version to better prepare for 2012 DAT?

2. I actually have Cliff AP Bio 2nd edition which I used back in high school. lol Do I have to get AP Bio Cliff 3rd edition or the latest edition??

I honestly think any version of the book should be fine. The fundamentals of biology have not really changed in the past 2-3 years. Cliff's is better anyway. KBB is good for hormones, pregnancy, the immune system and the few things that Cliffs did not cover well.

As for Cliffs, I bought it back in my junior year of high school for the AP and used it for the DAT. I think its the 3rd edition, but whatever it is, it is not new.

I also recommend joining DATQVault and/or getting the DAT destroyer. You should be well prepared if you use these.

yes I am concerned about old edition because for example, my 2nd oldschool edition uses Kingdom Monera. 😀

Haha true, mine had that too but it's not worth buying a brand new book for a detail you know has changed. I honestly think you will be fine
