whys collagen so important

i mean i know u should know it, but why make it a huge focal point
 
yea why so much about collagen? all we need to know is that its basically a triple helix fibrous protein...in epithelial and connective tissue??? is that right
 
osterblasts secretes collagen which build bones, and also collagen has

glycine ( amino acid that has H as a r group) every third position.

high concentration of glycine will probably give more compact bone structure within limited volume, and somehow build better

bone as secondary structure of protein.

please correct me if i am wrong, these stuffs are what i learned from biochemistry class like an year ago

Correct man. The triple helix fact is a good one to know. It makes collagen unique. And the glycine every third position fact.
 
Might want to add some stuff on genetics or heredity in there (eg: a colorblind dad and carrier mom having a child etc)

Also stuff on the five kingdoms perhaps? (Annelids, Platyhelminthes etc)

Just my thoughts!
 
also you might want to know the simple rules about heredity, autosomal recessive/dominant and X-linked recessive...

Pretty simple stuff and ill guarantee its on the test...or your money back, haha j/k
