Hey guys,

I'm just starting to study for the DAT and I've heard the "take it when you feel ready" thing but I'm a little concerned about when I should sign up. I'm enrolled in a Kaplan class that will end in March and I want to prepare for at least a month after the class ends but..


when should I register for a DENTPIN and schedule the DAT?

How far in advance can and should I register?

What if I don't feel ready as the DAT is approaching?

Here's the way I would do it. Take several tests. Once you see yourself getting good scores, register for a date. Oh and you also need to build up some courage for it. The only way to do this is by practicing. Do as many practice tests as possible. Usually a solid two months of studying is good enough. Sorry, I can't really answer your specific questions. I myself haven't taken the test yet...but will really soon! Possibly next week 😱 hehe...but I'm building up my courage!! Good luck to you

i said i was gonna do it when i felt ready, but since there was no deadline, there was no motivation to study. now that i've set my date i have a count down timer to the days left every time i open my web browser. great motivation =)

Give our self like 2 1/2 months to study. So if you want to take it 3 months register NOW. Registering will give you a deadline to study and will motivate you to study harder.
