This is torture. They make us apply to dental school with all the enthusiasm we've got. Then they stress us out 'till our brains feel like exploding. We're all idiots!!!

Glad to hear so much excitement and positive thinking! It's people like you (all) who are passionate about mouths and medicine and aren't just going into practice because daddy's operatory is waiting for you when you graduate. Yay! It'll be a great ride.

And they don't stress us...you stress you. You signed up for it, and it certainly isn't a surprise when it turns out to be just as stressful as you imagined it. There's actually a lot of humor in it when you see your classmates freaking out that it's exactly what they were prepared for...😕 Just laugh it off and it'll go by quickly.

You too? Seriously, there are so many what-ifs along the way that might derail our dreams..."what if I don't pass this test? What if my LORs suck?", etc. One thing is contingent upon so many other things. All we can do is pray and hope.

Haha. I remember asking my dentist what would happen if he dropped a tooth down his patient's mouth. He replied, "You PRAY."

ya i was in the same excited state before I started school. And then dental school really hit me this summer!!! the further you go through dental school, the farther you seem to get to graduating!!! and I havn't even seen the hardest part yet!!! No-one said it was easy!! get ready to go the edge and back!

on the positive side: in the end its worth it. I try to enjoy the experience as much as humanly possible. Dental school can be fun! Tests suck!

I start school in a month and the first thing I thought when I get up is holy crap I am going to become a dentist. It seems like only yesterday I was freaking out about when AADSAS was going to mail my app.

That's fun. I took my wife to my school to show her my pre-clinic desk, lecture rooms, etc, and it hit me, holy crap, in less than a year I will be working on real people. Time has absolutely flown by during my first year. I can't believe people are getting interviews already now. Mine was 2 years ago! You'll have started school in no time. Good luck.
