I didn't apply to Cornell

for the simple fact that I had been told they were arrogant and far too smug to enjoy one's self at for 3-4 years. I interviewed at several other Ivy League programs, and it doesn't surprise me a bit that they had to scramble at Cornell given their reviews and overall image.

St. Vincent's also scrambled. Kinda puts it into a different perspective than the one advocated by the author of that e-mail.
Dummy couldn't even send it to the right people...

That email was definitely in bad form. They were just too picky this year.... I have friends who were dead set on going there but just didn't get ranked.
