So my GPA is not great not that bad either its above 2.5 but below 3.0. Now does this mean I am not getting a residency? I work hard. I apply myself. I started visiting programs in my second year. I created contacts. I passed boards part 1. Will my GPA hold me back? Alot of the programs on the CASPR list don't have a GPA requirement.

What does this mean for people like me??!!!:scared:

There are many programs that require a 3.0 or higher. A lot of people's GPAs go up during their 3rd and 4th years. If you think you will be above the 3.0 mark by the time you apply for residencies, then apply to do their clerkship. If not, go to programs that dont require a GPA or ranking. You will get into a program as long as you perform well during externships. Don't let your low GPA bog you down and interrupt your life and it is an easy trap to fall into. It is added stress you don't need. Fear comes from worrying about the future, so focus on the now and prepare yourself.

👍 Great tip! A few upperclassman suggested a minimal of 2.5 to 3.0 for the first half because the 2 half of our education is clinical, which could be a GPA booster if you have great interpersonal skills. At Barry we take ~80 credits in the 1st half and ~112 credits in the 2nd half.
