I don't remember the names of the doctors I shadowed - do I need to get new shadowing experience?

Several years ago in college I did shadowing in the local ED. I never shadowed one specific doctor, but was given exposure to the entire department - doctors, nurses, admissions staff, etc. Being that my interest is in going to medical school, most of my time was spent with the doctors, but not all of it.

I'm typing up my E.C section right now and realized I don't remember anyone's name save for a few of the volunteer coordinators. Sloppy on my part, I know. I googled the department and I don't recognize any of the names on there. Do I need to list specific names on my application of who I shadowed, or can I get away with just mentioning the three physicians I did shadow without mentioning them by name?

It doesn't appear that you have an option. You might just refer to them as Staff Physicians of XXX Hospital Emergency Department collectively, explain in the narrative, and be sure to give a Contact that can attest to your involvement. If you know anyone still working in the department, they might be able to recall some names for you since it hasn't been that long.

Agree with the above. I had a similar ED experience, except I remembered the physician names. I listed them all and used the volunteer coordinator as the contact.
