WTF is going on with top front end? all the rest of the PAT section makes sense, i get it whatever hopefully i'll master it with practice. but when i look at top front end im dumbfounded. HOW am i suppose to figure out a shape from a bunch of weird lines? i am sooooooooooooooooooooo lost
is anyone else having the same problem?? maybe im making it harder than it really is

when i first started studying and using CDP and other materials...this was my worst section. now it's my best. you get better with practice.

u definitely do see improvement with practice i was getting 9/15 but recently this has gone to 10, 11 and today i got 12/15 i didn't line count once today, the best way i think is to seriously try to see the object in 3D...for instance see the sizes of the object and compare to answer choices does what ur looking at have a protrusion? if so go cancel out answer choices that dont show a protrusion, TFE is all about the details.

go over ur mistakes, see what u didn't see and try to apply the missed aspects on ur next practice...going over mistakes is = to practice IMO

also, i find that a time constraint on tfe makes u do better, i think the longer u take to think abt the situation at hand makes it harder...use ur instincts the world is 3D its around us the skills are dormant inside u lol u got this!

TFE is the perspective of the object if you are looking directly above it, ie top view, directly in front of it, ie front view, and directly to the right of it, ie end view. The solid lines indicate a surface change that you can see. For example a stairway going up. Every step is indicated by a straight line. If you wre looking at front view you will see a long rectangular box, which is equal to the height of the stairway and each horizontal line in the box indicates the surface change of one step. Now if you are looking at the end or right view you will see the actual lengths, depth and height of each step. A top view or birds eye view will show the width and length o the staircase, but not the height. Each solid line indicates a change in the surface of the steps.

Now if you are looking backwards in the front view o the staircase. If you don't have x-ray vision, you will just see the height of the staircase and the length of the staircase. If you turn on your x-ray vision, you will then see the individual steps indicated by a dashed line. Easy way to put it, the dash lines are the lines you would see if you have x-ray vision. Also note that a solid line in that same area will trump the dash line. Hope that clear things up. It will be a good idea if you at 3-d designs of building structures to get a feel of whats going on.

I felt the same way when I started practicing PAT. I'd suggest starting with something really simply like KBB PAT. Also, look through http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=528643&highlight=My+wicked+PAT+Tutorial.

Once you understand what's going with these examples, you can move on to something more complex like Crack DAT PAT. It takes practice but you will get better. I went from like 2/15 to 15/15 on CDP in this section.
