iM RETAKING MY DAT IN OCTOBER AND up to date, everytime I try to open books I feel like depressed and close them. what should I do, people this is bothering me alot, help please. Im taking 12 cridets too and I have a week to study alot before school starts but i cant start any help please!

Hey I'm taking mine in October too. I'm kinda freakin out too so I feel you. You need to really stay focused and stay strong. Getting depressed isn't going to help your score out. Just think of it this way: For every minute you are feeling depressed and not wanting to open books, you could have been learning stuff that will help you score higher. If you are taking it in October you really need to start buckling down. Especially with a 12 unit load its hard to direct all your energy to the DAT. Good luck and stay mentally tough. 👍

hey..i am taking it in september..i just finished physics for the whole summer, which i had to take. needless to say, i was feeling the same way you were at the beginning of the summer. i made sure to spend about two hours a day on dat stuff during my class except right before an exam..just spend as much time the next week and try doing a little everyday during your class. if it doesnt work i guess wait a year?

Just completely forget about it for one day. Do something you know you REALLY REALLY like doing. For me I'd go water skiing or motorcycling for the ENTIRE day. Completely forget about the DAT for this day. Get a good nights rest, set your alarm, get up and eat a good breakfast and head to the library. DON'T STUDY AT HOME! There will be too many distractions. Sit down with Kaplan or AP Cliffs Bio, or Destroyer, or w/e you're studying and JUST DO IT!

Yea.. exactly what heatwheat said... get a break.. you really do deserve a day off summer since i'm assuming you took the test sometime during the summer so you were probably studying for that too...
definitely give yourself a day off.. i took my test few days before summer ended and had to prepare for school and do supp apps with the last days of summer.... it made me melt down on the first day of classes.. almost passed out on my way back to my room from my classes...

im depressed.🙁.. jus took DAT's yesterday and im going to retake probably late OCTOBER,, do u guys think its worth it 4 me to ask school's to with hold my application until i get my new score's.. im very confused. plus my GPA 3.0 and .. IM so demoralized...QR and RC just slaughtered me other wise i was fine.. Funny thing is i just caught a cold on the day of.. and by the time RC section rolled by, I barley could function🙁

I am re-taking mine in Oct. too, I just started to warm up and study I couldn't get my self to re read any thing for 26 days as well.
But I got my energy back, get myself relaxed and I am going to do all my best. I believe you should do the same and good luck 👍

The short way of me tryng to help:
You assimilated studing to pain, you need to find out why, and reverse it.

The long way:

You need to find the purpose of why you are shooting to become a doctor, This is nothing like IT, where if you make a mistake you can always redo the hole thing, we will be dealing with lifes of fathers, sons mothers and daughters so you need to be 100% sure that this is what you want, not what something that someone planed for you. If you are lacking on motivations even if this is something that you really want, but you cant deal with the stress, go out, excisercise, and stay in touch with yourself. I went trhu all of Tonny Robins audio book and DVD, and that really gave me the push I needed to make the decision for medical school.

Im sorry if it was kind of hard to understand, my english still poor, but I hope it was of some use.

I wish you all the best to become the best 👍
