Use whatever resources you can afford and deem necessary if being a doctor is what you wish to do. What is the NREMT-I?

Most of us have been in your situation. Just take it one day at a time. Physics was tough for me but I managed to pass it with a B. Make sure you practice everyday. Work each problem more than once. Good luck.

Stop what you are doing.

Now focus and relax

Taking a real deep breath in and hold it for about 5 seconds

Now breath out.

Repeat until you are nice and calm.

Take it slow. The quiz is over. It is just a quiz.

Review the material with your instructor to see where you went wrong.

Now, focus on your physics exam. Review problems. Make an appointment with your professor or even better, set up a study group with some people in your class.

but most importantly, relax.

National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians - Intermediate. The cap'n is moving up from EMT-B. (Good luck to you!)

Don't be afraid to talk with the instructor for one-on-one help. If you're having trouble understanding the material then a tutor (or tutors) could be helpful. There's no subsitute for putting in time with the material, though.

Relax. Make a study plan that gets you through all the reading and sample questions. Leave a couple of days to go back over anything you are having trouble with. You can do it!

Whatever you do, DO NOT QUIT. Keep trying and do your best, try to do better on your next quiz. Dont stress out, stressing is only going to hurt you, just try and focus. Good luck to you

Tutors are awesome. Utilize them. If you don't like your tutor's style, SWITCH tutors. You will succeed if you try.

Thanks for replying guys...The class year has just been crazy so. One of my Emt teachers is going to help me out with physics. Even when i try to relax... school just pops up in my head... I guess i'll relax at friend's wedding this weekend.

There are some great ways to relax. I found that if I put a nature sounds CD in my portable player and close my eyes, I get very relaxed. Try it.

Drink alocohol on weekends... 😀

You remind me of someone I tutored for inorganic chem. He was an EMT and always had bags under his eyes and constantly felt one step behind everything.

Whatever you do, don't give up. I almost quit premed to go to law school. I'm glad I didn't.

Good luck on the NREMT-I exam (take it from someone who is an EMT-I, it's not that bad.....so relax). As for everything else, just take it one thing at a time. If it seems overwhelming as a whole, break it down into pieces you can handle. It's just like dealing with a bad trauma- don't focus on "OMG this guy is so f--ked up" (or in your case "I'm so f--ked"), but rather just address things one at a time (airway, breathing, circulation in trauma, bio, physics and everything else in your studies). Perhaps a beer or two on the weekends might be a good idea (in moderation of course), but could just getting away from studying. I find fishing and sometimes simply sitting alone in the woods to be extremely cathartic and a great way to start again with a clear head and mind.

to start off, this is for my friend, not me. also, i am not being a "troll" here, i am genuinely looking for help for her. does anyone have any experience with this situation:

Ok, so, my friend is in DO school but hates it and is getting a ton of getting federal loans. How would it work if she quit and went to MD school? Would she have to start paying on those loans NOW or could they be added onto from the MD school assuming the total balance stays below the 180something maximum and then start paying back like she normally would have?

Also along those lines, she has no desire to transfer into a ms2 or ms3 position, but to just completely start over even though she would be leaving the DO school at the end of her ms2 year. She retook the mcat and went from a 24 to a 33 and has a 3.4 gpa. Would the MD school know she went to a DO school before? Is she required to say? would it matter if she said? i think she said she is about average in the class, grade wise.

finally how would it affect the DO school? is it really bad for that school or just someone they dont get an extra 2 yrs of money from??

I guess she was hoping that since there is the aacomas and the amcas separately, that there would not be communication between the two in applying.

she just doesnt want to go to the DO school anymore badly enough that she would be will to start completely over. just a personal choice, no good solid extenuating circumstance. a transfer would be great, but not needed.

we appreciate the help.

mr. tulane,
it's bad form to post the same thing on multiple forums. don't be surprised if many of your threads get locked soon.

also, i'm questioning your friend's sanity.
