Long story short, I'm a sophomore in General Bio and am getting a C in the class, is everything over? 🙁 I know I got it because I really had no time to study for it because I gave so much time to my upper div chem course :/

can't do anything about it now, there's always next semester to salvage your GPA.

How do you explain something like that? because it was just bad time management

I can see why you would think everything is over...because nearly everyone on here is of the opinion that anything below a 3.7 GPA isn't good enough for medical school while they are not on an admissions committee and have no idea what they're really talking about. There's more to your application than just your grades. With that said, do well the rest of your college career. I had one semester where I got a couple Cs and failed a class (1.67 GPA) and managed to get my GPA to a respectable level with one hell of an upward trend. You need to buckle down from here on out and your best.

then just say it was bad time management. trying to make up excuses makes it look worse. If you do really well in future classes, then you can use that as a learning experience (aka how u learned to better manage your time and how the whole experience helped prepare you for/will help u in med school)

That sounds like it could be one issue. How many credits are you taking? How is it that you had absolutely NO time to study? Think about what you do, what time you dedicate things to, and figure out what's more important.

Are you working? Paying for college by yourself? Family crisis? While these may be good reasons, you need to reevaluate what you've been doing.

One C isn't going to kill you, but a trend of them will. Do better next semester.

Thanks guys 🙂

I figured one C wouldn't kill and though I'm still taking 18units next quarter, I know I need to do a lot better.
DRIN: Yep, I read people's posts and they're like, "OH MY I GOT A B!" and i'm here with my C in a general bio course :/
And CapnCrunch. I have no real excuse. I'm taking 13 units, but my analytical class is crazy! I spend about 12 hours a week in lab, about 20 hours on reports and homework for that class, plus studying for test. I enjoyed that class, so gave it more priority then bio. I know it's no excuse, the only way I can explain the C is that bad time management lead to it since I devoted soo little time to it.
