Does anybody go to LIU or any other pharmacy school that requires one to do drug tests? I know they do a drug test for criminal validation in LIU however im not sure if they do random drug test or in the beginning of the year. Does anybody have any experience with this, and if so, what are your opinions on it?

My opinion is: stop doing drugs NOW and you won't have to worry later.

Why do you instantly assume Im doing drugs lol???? I didn't come here to ask for advice on how to live, just a simple question on a subject that is very interesting: drug testing in schools.

Why would anyone ask about drug testing unless they were measuring up? If they do, just test and live happily ever after. No?

You asked the question, smart@$$. Might as well be happy with the answer you got: stop doing drugs now.

I don't know if said school randomly drug tests. However, ask yourself: "Is it worth it?"

So, you confirmed you do drugs? The fact that you got accepted is astonishing in itself. I thought they might go to your head!

So, if it's a "lifestyle" you choose, it's one that is weak. You've shown you've given up on simple things that get to you by doing drugs as a stress release. You won't make it in pharmacy school this way, let alone, make it to pharmacy school on your way there.

Good luck.

If you PM me your real name, I gonna tell you how to get through the drug test.:xf:

all drug dealers should know not to use their own stash. :meanie:

Wow you got all this from a post !

Can I axe a question

Lol that gets to me whenever I hear it. I had a teacher who said 'don't hurt me' whenever someone said it to her.

OP, I don't know if they do drug testing but, my opinion is that it's appropriate. These people are going to be pharmacists and they shouldn't have a drug problem in pharmacy school. I imagine that some people might feel violated in some way but they shouldn’t really have a problem with the testing if they’re clean.

I see people on this forum like to contribute their opinions rather than answering simple questions. If you got nothing smart to say, don't say nothing. I knew when posting this most the responses would be: OH A pharmacist who does drugs? Thats a NONO!!!!!!! lmao. Keep your ******ed opinions to yourselves you bozos. My friend who is applying asked cause she smokes pot occasionally. And she is still definitely smarter than half you brainless *****s who all share the same exact opinions about everything. And just by the way, Im clean as a cat but it makes no difference. Are all pharmacists clones with the same exact ideology on life? Its like a bad comedy, and I think its better to have people, even that do drugs, as pharmacists than a bunch of robots that are programmed to think and act by the system. Lol, get a life.

Yeah, I like my pharmacists to have an utter disregard for a little thing called law too.

Hell, who needs that, right?

The law is necessary, but not always right. You'll learn that one day. Maybe when you grow a little older. But hell, this isn't even about that, I didn't want to get off topic, but people love making their own conclusion and shoving their opinions down others throats instead of helping someone with a question.

Wow.

Yes I want my pharmacist to give me drugs, when hes not of proper mind. I forgot about that. I apologize for my ignorance, who cares about the law. I want all my doctors to be meth addicts too, hey its a free country right? My surgeons deserve a little cocaine, they work hard. I want my pediatrician to be mellow on pot so he can relate to my kid. Pharmacists need to do drugs to understand them. It makes so much sense now, thank you for opening my eyes.😀

So do I have to be, like, 40?

Whether it's relatively right or wrong is completely irrelevant.

Illegal is illegal.

If I blow your brains out, but I don't agree with the law, think it's wrong, and think it should be OK, does that make it right?

I suggest your friend moves to a country with lesser freedoms (where s/he can be locked up in a damn goulag for even posting something like that on a forum, if they existed...) and see how s/he likes it.

Why would she move to another country? What the hell are you guys talking about? It seems like ur the ones on drugs lol. Ok, from now on, I don't want a freaking debate. If your a smart-ass, dont post here. If you know anything about what this thread was intending to ask, feel free to share it. Thanks in advance.

dude I totally agree with you though. I want my health care professionals to be on drugs. They deserve it, plus at least we can trust them to be responsible with it.

Oh btw, you shouldn't post on this thread since you're a smart-***. we gave you the answer. drug testing is the schools descion we cants change it, it's smart because no one wants there health care professionals under the influence of anything. you wouldn't have a surgeon do surgery if he was drunk.

The law is necessary, but not always right.
So what are you saying? So you think your friend should not smoke as well? If so, I agree with you. Professionals of our world hold our life in their hands, they make the laws we follow, they protect us. I should hope they do not have drugs impeding their judgement and actions.
You'll learn that one day. Maybe when you grow a little older.
I can guarantee that many people responding to you are older if not much older then you. Show some respect.

If you don't like getting these responses, don't ask such a question next time.

To be fair, your original post does solicit for opinions. Here is mine: it's not worth the risk. I personally don't care who does drugs (in my opinion it is very similar to drinking alcohol - just don't go into work drunk, same idea - I don't care if you smoke, don't go into work high), but if your "friend" gets caught and thrown out of pharm school s/he would of course regret that choice.

Sorry in advance if my opinion is to close to the pharmacy masses, please feel free to disregard it. 😀

No, you speak some sense at least. Obviously I would'nt want a high surgeon performing an operation. But if you think marijuana is such a potent drug that its usage will make ones brain cells shrivel and be unable to finish pharmacy school, then you got a lot to learn. But enough with this, I guess nobody knows anything about this or cares to share information without judging, so im done with this.

Maybe not, but you cannot deny it temporarily alters ones abilities and decisions.

Why does everyone think marijuana is harmless? Go smoke your cancer sticks. Go ahead and impact your learning ability/working memory. I don't care. Just don't drive under the influence and don't do it on the job.

OP, there is an entire thread devoted to drug testing questions. Perhaps you should search for it and read through it.

Something called "PROFESSIONALISM" comes to mind first before doing drugs.

I don't know, I'd like to be in a sane, sober state while I verify prescriptions, but that's just me.

I'm asking a specific question about a specific school. Couldn't find a thread about it anywhere, sorry.

I rather be too, I never stated anywhere that working high is ok. The original question got warped so much that I think this thread is pointless now. Is it possible to get answers instead of personal opinions anywhere on the internet. LOL

Get an online-Pharm.D., and you won't have to worry about all of those drug tests.

Don't encourage him! Do you want to be associated with the OP? Seems like a sleaze to me.

😀
Hey im giving him the benefit of the doubt. We have all come off as a douchebag at some point.

I certainly don't think marijuana is harmless...I know many people that were *hippies*, some of them used to be some of the smartest people I know, said it helped them study and get degrees in all sorts of areas (healthcare to law and everything else under the sun), in recent history after 30-40 years of using *harmless* marijuana, I am surprised some are still functioning in their jobs, a few of them aren't.

As for your friend, I don't know of any schools that don't do drug testing, and even if they don't rotation sites will, internship sites will...best not to do it if she wants this as a career. As for the law being wrong, I don't think it is, but even if it was, this is a career governed by the law in every aspect, the government has a lot of say which of us will keep our license if we are found under the influence, or if we make a medication error, so since they are in the driver's seat of our career, we play by their rules.

The marijuana of the 60s was not as potent as the stuff they have now 😉 I have been told this by many boomers.

The boomers are the source of trouble. They carelessly spent their live, smoking crack. Then, when they retire, we have to support them using our tax money.

Oh I know. And they didn't even have to get degrees to get into some of the jobs they got into. They totally screwed over Gen X.
