I know it has only been a few hours since we got our acceptance emails, but has anyone gotten the email yet with your Cascade username and password?

I haven't!!
I also got accepted into UPS yesterday, but I've already sent in my deposit to USC and decided that is where I'd like to go, so it should free up a spot for someone else!!

Congratulations on getting into both! Wish you all the best at USC! 😀

I'm leaning toward UPS because it will be an easier commute for me. 🙂 Still undecided. Will have to visit both campuses and then decide.ups!!
I had sent my deposit to USC too, but I put a stop payment on my check!I also got accepted into UPS yesterday, but I've already sent in my deposit to USC and decided that is where I'd like to go, so it should free up a spot for someone else!!

Choose UPS! 😀
I got into UPS too! Nothing was mentioned to me in my email about scholarship though. Did anyone get offered scholarships from UPS? Just wondering as I received a scholarship from other schools.
Yep that's what I was thinking but the website also said that we would hear about acceptance from them near the end of February too I believe.

True. On the website that I linked to above, it appears that one of the scholarships is dependent on financial need, so I would think that they can't determine who qualifies for that scholarship until they receive our FAFSA information. For the other scholarship, who knows? Maybe someone already received it for our incoming class, or maybe they're waiting to award it.
Update: I emailed the contact person in the email for our Cascade username/password. Haven't heard anything yet, but I assume we'll get our account information tomorrow or Tuesday.

Another update: emails with our Cascade info were just sent out 😀 deposit has been paid!
Also, the technology service desk says to wait about half an hour after activating Cascade before trying to access Moodle or Webmail, because your Cascade info has to jump over to those servers. I tried to log onto Moodle and it wouldn't let me, so I called and that's what they said. They also said they were having a small problem with Moodle on their end, so they were gonna try to get it sorted ASAP.
Who else is IN?! I wanna meet my classmates! Should we make a FB group?

Make a FB group!!! I created my account, but I'm waiting until payday to finalize lol.
Here's our FB page: University of Puget Sound - Doctorate in Physical Therapy - Class of 2015
Just a few quick notes to save everyone a lot of frustration:
#1: Create your Cascade account using the info sent to you in the Cascade activation email.
#2: Pay your deposit.
#3: 24-48 hours after you pay the deposit, you will receive an email saying Webmail has been activated. Once you receive that email, log into Cascade. It will prompt you to reset your password, which you have to do in order to access Webmail and Moodle.
#4: THEN, go to Moodle using the link provided in the acceptance email.

So what did moodle provide you? I get paid next week so I can pay the deposit then. I'm trying to setup a short trip there towards the end of this month. I work with two recent graduates of the program and they have nothin but nice things to say about it. They do wish that they got to use the new facility. It will be one year old when we get to use it.

Moodle has:
*Affirmation form (which needs to be signed, scanned, and uploaded back to Moodle) stating we have read and agree to the technical standards/criminal background check.
*Release of information form (which also needs to be filled out, scanned, and uploaded).
*Health history form, which needs to be filled out, scanned, and uploaded.
*Info on how to upload a copy of our CPR card.
*Info on the medical terminology textbook that we need to purchase/review before the semester starts (don't worry, it's not very expensive 🙂 I bought mine the other day on Amazon for about $45). Technically, I already took med. terminology, and it says if you already took a med. terminology class, you don't have to buy the book. I'm not taking any chances though.
*Info on the deadline for sending in official transcripts from Spring 2012.
*Info on when registration starts and the classes we will be taking in Fall 2012.
*List of important dates and a list of contact numbers/emails for our professors/advisers.
I know it's a long way off, but have you started thinking about off-campus housing? I'm waging a mental war with myself wondering if I want a roommate or not. Ultimately, I think it might be a good idea to have a roommate, but I really want to get to know whoever it is before we get to Tacoma.
I'm thinking the same thing regarding a roommate. Looking at padmapper online the nearby housing looks pretty affordable. Not sure if my GF would make the move with me as she's trying to get into a school in California. If she doesn't come I will be looking for a roommate. Should know in a few weeks. Anyone else looking for a roommate? Or planning on making a first visit to Tacoma soon?
You can try asking some of our classmates on Moodle. When you log onto the PT500 webpage, you'll see on the left side of the page a "participant" list. Maybe try messaging some people and see if they are interested in being roommates? By the way, what state are you coming from? I'm gonna be moving up from California 🙂
Same here, currently living in South Lake Tahoe. What part are you from?
Thanks for your insights on moodle.
Thanks for your insights on moodle.
Monterey Bay 🙂 I'm glad I'm not the only California person! From what I've seen on the participant list so far, a lot of our classmates are from Washington.

i confused this with USciences (USP)...i got into USP
Just wondering... for those of you who are moving from out-of-state or from a region of Washington that is far away from Tacoma, how do you plan on paying for moving expenses/first month's rent+security deposit/other expenses?
Since we don't get our loan refund check until the first day of school, I'm just trying to figure out how to pay for these things without breaking the bank.
Ideas?

I'm working and saving up right now. The drive in a moving van with my car in tow from California should be a pretty big expense. I'm actually thinking about getting rid of a lot if things like furniture and making the trip in my packed car. If working/ saving is not an option you could use a credit card or a private loan and pay it off when you get your check from the school.
The clinic where I work is SUPER slow, so it's hard to make enough money to save up for the move. And since the job market around here is fierce, it's nearly impossible to find a second job around here.
I'm thinking I'm not going to have any other choice except to take a personal loan and then pay it back immediately once I get my refund check.
