Sooo... I just wait? Anything I can do?! When can I expect to hear from them? And more importantly, if I do get in, does my fafsa (currently awarded for a much more expensive schhol) just switch right over?!

Try your best to take it with a big grain of salt. It seems like a fair amount of schools make everyone they interview an alternate. I made 3 waiting lists my first time applying and heard of no movement for any of those schools. I ended up being rejected by all 3 in September.
If you haven't been accepted anywhere yet I would assume the worst and take it as a rejection. Then you can start concentrating on next cycle/save yourself from worrying every single day until September.

Nothing you can do. You can try being one of those proactive people and showing interest through letters of intent, rec letters, calling. If the list is ranked though, its kind of pointless.
I believe Houston puts alot of people on the wait list as well. Everyone I knew never got off it.
And yes your fafsa should transfer over. You should put them down as a school to receive your financial aid stuff however, if you haven't already.
