I recently graduated from college without taking statistics. I am applying to medical schools this summer and I would still like to apply to schools that have a statistics requirement (such as UC Irvine and UCLA).

Would these schools allow me to apply this summer if I take a community college statistics course in the fall?

List statistics as a future course in the transcript section. When you complete the class, prove it by sending in the transcript to the schools that care.

👍 Also, I'd recommend you take it at a 4-year school instead of a CC, if possible.

Thanks!

Does anyone know if I would really be at a serious disadvantage by taking one prereq class at a community college? It would be about 10x cheaper for me to take the class at a CC than a 4-year...

If that's your only prereq taken at a cc, it's not a 'serious' disadvantage. There aren't any 4-year state schools near you?

Yeah, whatever. I did my english pre-reqs all online via the local community college (and also one math). It's all just papers anyways and it allowed me to have a better schedule each semester.

There is a 4-year school near me but it would cost approximately $1000 to take the class at the 4-year school.

However, it would cost approximately $140 to take the class at my local CC. It's a matter of cost, really.

It's not worth it. Just go with the CC.
