I'm a freshman, first semester i did pretty decent I think 3.52 wasn't outstanding but I didn't think it was horrible..this semester different story.
Total GPA as of both semesters: 3.4 (30 credits)

Chem II: B
Roman Lit: B (Definitely harder than expected course)
Med-tech terminology: A
Psychology: B+ (Class of 500+ curve definitely hurt me 92% down to a B+)

I know that letter wise it doesn't look all that horrible, but it brough my cumulative down to a 3.40...I'm taking 10 hours this semester at my local CC just simple Gen eds since I only have two of them I figured Id know them out this summer, How will admissions committes look at this since techincally its a downward trend instead of upward, please don't flame me either I just want honest advice

You are a freshman, so you still have ample time to get that GPA up. Besides, it's not a "trend" if it happens only in one semester.

Chill Luke. Contrary to popular belief, perfection is not a prerequisite for a medical school acceptance. I had a very low semester (far below the numbers you posted), yet I still managed multiple acceptances/scholarships. Your glimpse of imperfection may work to your advantage as long as you show improvement (do not read: grade inflation) and dedication to becoming an overall better student. And its def something to talk about during interviews. Good luck.

It's only a downward trend if it continues, a higher GPA in future semesters will still give you an upward trend and this semester will just be a blip.

Don't even worry about it. You have tons of time to make up for any mistakes you made.

Brochacho... don't worry. I had a bad semester recently as well, and I decided I'm gonna work my ass off. Let's use it as motivation!!

Did your final grade in psych really get curved down to a B+ from a 92%? I'd be pissed if that happened to me.

a 3.40 is not bad at all; coupled with a decent mcat score and a higher GPA will you will get by the time you apply you'll be good to go 😀

I had my 94% turn into an A- once in % credit hour general chem. I was flaming mad! That crazy stuff happens.

Yeah it was a intro psych class thinking it'd be easy I took it, with 500 kids in it and only the top 15% getting an A- or better it screwed me, kind of sucked but oh well never taking a psych class again
