So a friend of mine is going to a university in texas, and they give out A's, b, c, d, f. Im going to a university in california and they give out for example, B+, B, B-.

I dont think this is fair because lets say that my friend and i both got a 81% on a bio test. He gets a 3.0 gpa, and i get a 2.7 gpa. Do the dental schools take this into consideration? Like does a B+, B, and B- all count for the same GPA on the application? Because its not fair that he could get a 81% on a final, considering i got the same exact thing, he would have a higher gpa. And this would go for all the classes!

Well, same thing, if you get an 89, you get a 3.3, while if he gets an 89, he gets a 3.0. It usually ends up averaging each other out.

But the applications service does take this into account. They calculate your GPA with the +/-, and without the +/-.

So when someone says they have like a 3.4gpa on here. Is that without the +/-? Because it seems that should be the universal gpa since the people without the +/- cant have that type of a gpa. And we need a way to compare each other.

And hypothetically, if i only got 81%'s, 91s, 71s and he did too, i would be at a disadvantage. That's definitely not fair. They should be graded equally.

eh hes a whiner-deal with what your school does

The other guy could feel the same way about his school NOT doing +/-

...and hypothetically if you only get 79%s, 89s, 69s and he did too, you would be at an advantage. The two hypothetical situations would then cancel each other out... and you end up with reality...
