I haven't shadowed an M.D, but I have shadowed a D.O, will that be sufficient(in a hospital) will that be sufficient for med school??

my only significant, longterm hospital experience was at a rehab hospital with therapists... i really dont see how it's an issue if they're not md's

well of course this is sufficient! The differences between osteopaths and allopaths are virtually nill in the real world. The only people that I have ever observed that consider there to be a difference are academic researchers. Ivory towers you know.

Great post and great signature. 👍

you should shadow Dr. Dean RRROOOOOOOAAAAARRRRR!!!!

I shadowed a DO too, and I think it was the best way to go 😀
I got great experience with her and learned a ton of things that I'm writing about in my essays.
I'm applying to MD programs mostly, but shadowing a DO has left the door open if I decide to apply to DO programs too.
I think DO programs want you to have shadowed a DO specifically, so that you understand what osteopathy is. Most MD programs just say that you should have experience working with a physician, I take that to mean DO or MD.
