Cornell note taking really helps--I've taken notes in cornell format forever
and it's a great way to take notes. I'm not sure why nut it's easier to
read and remember with this format.

Yah, thats basically how you do it but there is more to it than that. You
should try it though, it can become really convenient and helpful if you do
it correctly.
