so I have trypophobia. 3D objects and holes SCARE THE SHT out of me. As soon as I see a PAT question (hole punch), I get CRAZY goosebumps and have to look away immediately. How should I go about this?😕😱😱:scared:

on 4 sections of the PAT i basically went through and guessed every answer because I'm slow and spent all my time on the first two sections. I got a 15 and still got 4 acceptances (prob wouldve been 5 if i went to all my interviews)

..with that said, just guess and see what happens 👍

Buy some online practice exams, or maybe try to find some free ones and just do them over and over and over. There are also a few tips and tricks that help with certain sections to increase speed and narrow down answers.

Seriously?A quick google search tells me this phobia is ingrained in your biology and not socially learned. Are you sure dentistry is the right field for you to be getting into? Because you will be looking through that hole everyone has on their face called a mouth everyday for long periods of time.

I guess eveeyone has trypophobia 😀 yay!

First question: Are you trolling? I am going to answer assuming you are not.

If you are definitely going through with the DAT and dentistry, then I would say to just answer each one of the hole punch ones without looking and move on. The PAT section is not likely to make or break your application unless it is really bad.

I had to completely blind guess on the last section and a half, and I got a 19. You would just have to make sure that you can absolutely dominate the other sections with the extra time.

If a bunch of small holes makes you queasy, I would reconsider dentistry. There is certainly no turning away as a dentist from a tooth/mouth full of holes. Somehow "holy" teeth must not bother you?

Also, since the condition is not recognized by any national psychology board, I would not expect any leniency from any dental schools.

He's definitely trolling.

I thought trypophobia was a made up thing? It's like saying: "look at all these creepy/weird pictures, oh why are you scared? That's not normal!" Do you think an extraction would freak you out? You would be pulling a tooth out of a socket, leaving a hole in the gums.
