I just got back.
I didnt score amazingly high like everyone else in the SDN world, but I feel accomplished.
PAT: 19
QR: 15 [ I am terrible at math, terrible is understatement]
RC: 20 [ I got the physics passage from HELL. I was always good at RC 21+ on practice and previous DAT 22]
Bio: 22
Gchem: 21
Ochem: 20
TS 21
AA 20
Old DAT TS 18/AA 18/PAT 19
*the breakdown haaa...
BIO (22): datqvault Alan's notes, Barron's AP This section is mostly application of simple- mid level difficult concepts. I think qvault helped alot here in giving me some practice with that, I took 7/10 of the qvaults scoring between 18-20. I will say that I think qvault is overload of detail. I also never did Bio Destroyer-I think if you're a bio major- and you've done some upper level bios- phys, plant, developmental you'll be fine. No need to memorize Campell. Also- my thoughts on Cliffs/Barrons- they're good to review, I used cliff first time around- 18, and semi used to Barrons second time around. I didnt really hardcore study for Bio b/c I heard it was so random
during the test I was like ****..........this is going to be a low score, but I sort of brushed it off- I also didn't over analyze the question- whatever gut feeling I had, I went with. Sounds wierd I know...
Gen Chem (21) Chads videos, KBB [white book or w/e], Destroyer I busted my ass for Chem. It was my weakest my first time around and I really wanted to nail it. Since I had watched Chad's before, I did them this time on fast play but RETOOK my notes. I learn alot by taking notes- or so I think? I think Destroyer was key- but I only did Destroyer once and I did them in sets of 50, then taking notes on what I got wrong.
Oh, and Chad personally answered a **** ton of my questions on the forum (I think he wanted to choke me)- hes so awesome
during the test I had a good mix of concepts and calculations- mostly set up, a couple of the conceptual questions were kinda rough
O chem (20): Destroyer, Chads The usual here. I made a **** ton of flash cards. I basically memorize here because I dont understand crap like nucleophile attacks blablablabla... I just wanted to know X+Y --> Z, and I guess that was enough.
during the test I felt so good about this section and it was my lowest science HA! I was like wow this is really cake.... ummmmm wonder what I missed really...
RC (20) I didn't do anything for this. I was always good at RC [first time 22) - I love S&D but let me tell you- THIS WAS THE RC FROM HELL I wanted to cry in the middle of it- no joke. I also smacked myself in the face literally because I wanted to give up. what the FLYING EFF was the physics passage. I think I would've understood it better if it was in Swahili. I immediately saw it and remembering AllahisGreater's breakdown I was like ****tttttttttt- skip. so I went to the next one- UHHhhh it was no better. The last RC passage was alright- ulcers- and I used to have GERD and all that lovely jazz so I kinda was interested.
S&D doesnt work on this version I'm sure it works on others b/c I've used it all the time, and I know no other way- but this was like.............................no.
PAT (19) CDP and Topscore to be honest, I only did 2/5 of the CDP's, I got a 19 last time doing the same thing- and CDP gives me a headache. Seriously. I just did the PATs with my practice exams- TS1-3 and was like ehh. thats enough.
I skipped hole punching and did it last since I knew they'd have crazy folds- and they did.
Also, I don't visualize for TFE- whoever says you HAVE to is BS- you can eliminate answers if you get the hang of what should show up where. I have never ONCE seen the 3D image
QR (15) you really wanna know what I did for QR??? ........... cried.
I watched Chad's on fast play - like a week ago, didn;t do the quizes and did 100 of the Destroyer (in the book not CDM) problems. I couldn't really even do those. I suck at math. The end.
testing experience- prometric crap I used spit to wipe my boards. I tried to raise my hand and it took about 2 minutes for someone to notice. After that, I was like........... spitting ........... and my hands were black.
overall if I can do it, you can too. Its not an easy test- but it IS doable. I set aside my entire summer and literally didn't see sunlight- I'm not kidding. Esp. towards the end, I lived in a library.
sGPA 3.14 cumGPA: 3.4
Good ECs, strong reccs, alot of shadowing, 3 years of Bio Lab TAing, Prez/VP of on campus clubs
blablablabalbalaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Anyways- thats all folks- hope it helps and let me know if you all think I have a chance! UMaryland is my dream school/state school soooooooo any UMD experts wana give me their 2 cents??? I interviewed last cycle...
PS shoutout to everyone who helped me and answered my zillion questions- Pooya, molar3, and... I can't remember the other screen names but THANKS ! 😀
