If you do as many classes as possible, is it possible to finish a political science major in 3 years? Also, if so, are there any other majors that can be completed in 3 years without taking anything but the nessiciary?

It's possible to do most majors in three years if you do the right combination of any of the following:
1. Starting your college career with credits from AP or dual-enrollment classes
2. Taking a heavy enough courseload each term
3. Taking summer courses

There is a short list of advantages to completing college on an abbreviated schedule, and there is a long list of disadvantages.

Most can be done. One professor I had started summer session of college ( right after HS) and was done in 3 years. She took average course loads too.

It's not necessarily just political science. Many BA/BS degrees can be completed in three years, depending on the maximum courseload your school allows. For example, at my school you can take 19 hrs/semester and 10 hrs/summer (more with Dean's approval). Keep in mind most undergrad programs are 120-130 hrs.

FRESH YR
S1--19 hrs
S2--38 hrs
summer--48
SOPH YR
S3--67 hrs
S4--86 hrs
summer--96
JR YR
S5--105 hrs
S6--124 hrs

So at my school, if you take the very maximum each semester, you can finish any BA/BS degree in 3 years. I'd advise against taking the maximum courseload each semester if you want to work, unless you know for sure you can handle it. Like people said before passing advanced placement tests and HS courses will give you "free passes" for certain subjects. Just don't wear yourself out.

I agree strongly with this. School is an experience, not a race. Enjoy being there.
