I got an Incomplete in a course because I did not fill out a course evaluation in time. As soon as I completed the evaluation my grade was posted but this Incomplete still shows and says "remediate in basic science." How will this look? Do I need to address this on personal statements for residency? It was over winter break when they switched our email to a new server and I had a problem getting email so its not like I was being unprofessional.

Talk to your Dean. 100:1 this is their mistake and that Incomplete isn't supposed to show up on your transcript at all. If that's the case just keep pestering them until they sort it out.

I talked to the dean of students and she said that it was just showing up on my unofficial record but that it wouldn't show up on my official transcript, but I am still skeptical because it didn't seem like she was too familiar with such situations. How do programs view Incompletes? Surely its not the same as a fail, 😕?

To clarify, it doesn't show Incomplete next to the course but in the margin it says "AD(academic deficiency) I in Basic science 1/20/2010." Then under that it says "AG(active in good standing) Remediate I in basic science 2/2/2010."

Is there an academic dean you can talk to? Or visit the records office? I don't think there should be something on any transcript because you were late sending in an eval.

yeah, go to the records office and get an official transcript. if it's wrong on there, go back to that dean you talked to

thanks for the replies guys. I will see what the official transcript says. Can't afford any red flags on my residency app.
