But I would much rather ask than not..
What kind of advice would you give to someone looking for intern opp.'s prior to pharm. school? Are there certain things/jobs (intern-wise) that I shouldn't do?
My concern is that I want to have hands on/a mentor prior to applying...kinda like a Yoda to my obi-wan lol...anyways...I know this redundant-just humor me with a straight-forward answer...(maybe sprinkled w/ a dash of wit, lol)
Thnx in advance...

There are a lot of threads about extracurricular, volunteer, and job opportunities that you could try out.

Essentially, anything pharmacy/health related would be good; especially if you are in the summer before applying.

I would suggest getting a tech job if you can find one, or try to volunteer at a pharmacy/hospital pharmacy (look up your state and hospital regulations since you might have to take a test).

If you really can't find something to do (and you've finished applying) I would just spend the summer relaxing. Pharmacy school will be stressful enough as it is!

My girlfriend (pre-m1 c/o 2012, and member of Sdn also, lol) suggested we study abroad this summer..if I do something not related to medicine should I still put it on my app.???

Prostitution = bad job to have before pharmacy school. Also, being a drug dealer wouldn't appeal to a profession where one may be in control of medicinal narcotics.😉

Seriously though, the closer a job is to pharmacy, the better. Yet, a good job that really develops you personally at least helps to show character to adcoms.

Definately try working in a pharmacy as an ancillary. I work at Longs right now. It really helps and its fun too!
