I have been having trouble finding internships in the philadelphia area. I am a sophomore chemistry major entering spring semester and recently lost my summer job. I have a 3.52 GPA and have a taken a year of bio gen chem orgo computer programming and calc based physics. I just need leads in finding internships that are still available. My resume is ready to send and if I need LOR the profs at my wouldn't mind. Any help much appreciated otherwise I'm going to be stuck flipping burgers.

I've just been googling internships in the area for chemistry to no avail. Thanks for the tip I'll check it out. Are there any school you would recommend? I moved to the area a year ago and attend school elsewhere so I am unfamiliar with the area(only live there for the summers).

Wish I could, but I don't live there so I have no idea...Someone like Geekchick might able to recommend a specific school.

Merck has a division out here if you wanted to try and test the waters of industry

bump.. im looking to apply to multiple programs any help is appreciated dont let me flip mcburgers

Hershey is not Philadelphia area in any sense. It is 2 hours away or so.

Can you be more specific about where you live and the geographic area you are willing to consider?

If you want Philadelphia area there are 5 medical schools (4 MD schools + 1 DO school) in Philly:

Drexel
University of Pennsylvania
Temple
Jefferson
PCOM (DO)

Drexel, UPenn, and Temple are large universities that might have research opportunities that are NOT affiliated with their medical school, but rather with their main undergraduate/graduate department of chemistry.
