It is always okay, just follow the protocol and exit amicably. I have to quit my clinical ER job next month I started in July because I’m moving out of that city and cannot reliably make the commute, and frankly have had enough of ER. I’ve learned it’s likely not the specialty for me. Hope you have greater things coming your way!

Give them two weeks notice, but be prepared to leave if they just dismiss you before that time elapses. (This happens in the real world.)
