I was looking at EK Mcat Bioogy, and it seems to me that they dont cover Ecology, Phylogeny, and Plants. Why do we have to damn it?! Or do we? If we do, is there any source that does cover them in sufficient detail. Is the kaplan blue book good for those 3 topics? I know this is a boring subject, but would appreciate a reply

Ecology and Plant Biology 😡 😡

WHY DO WE HAVE TO KNOW THIS CRAP!

Anyway, I had the same question, I have Schaum's, and they have sections on Ecology and Plant Biology that aren't that long at all! In fact, you could read each chapter in about half a day (depends how well you study though). But at most, it would take two days to complete it from schaum's! Check it out at the local bookstore or library!

As for phylogeny, there is not that much to know! I just finished studying 'evolution' yesterday - probably the EASIEST (I thought it would be the hardest).

nice attention getter by the way - you fooled me 😡

I was planning to buy the EK for Bio as Kaplan bio section seems to be too thin and after reading that I am not getting good bio scores. My scores are in 17-19 range. What do you guys suggest-EK or Schaum's - please? Planning to take the DAT in last week of July. Anything that would prepare me the most by this time?

Well, i've set up a poll, check out the thread (don't vote, since you don't know anything really about the review materials, just skip that part - sorry if i come off as rude, but i am really proud of that poll 'I' created).

Besides that, I can tell you that I've ordered EK, and I allready own Schaum's for biology, I am just using the kaplan blue book (by the way, i should get a patent on that term, 'kaplan blue book', since 'I' was the first to use it here on SDN, now everyone is throwing that term around 😡 ), anway, use kaplan blue book, and for more clarrification, try using something like shaum's as a reference.

I can't wait to get my EK, I've heard a lot of good things about it, I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it, I'm about to lose control and I think I like it, I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it, And I know, I know, I know, I know I know I want you!

yeah, try EK bio. I have schuam's and I think it has too much detail like a text book, so if your retention is good go for it. But I will probably use it for specific sections not covered in EK, like ecology, phylogeny, animal behavior, photosynthesis, plant physiology??? I was wondering if somebody could tell me how much of plants are we supposed to know for the DAT

Thank you guys. I hope one day I will be able to give out atleast a part of what I am getting here.
