login into the nrmp website, it'll tell you your status
 
when you log on to the NRMP, there will be a message.


I matched too. Congrats to everyone who mat ched!! We can breathe a tad easier!!! 👍

log onto the NRMP. hey..just curious, as i'm extremely paranoid...did anyone get a message saying they matched into CA1-3, but not into prelim year? just want to make sure that i actually have a place to go next year since the only message i got was "you matched"...

24 unfilled spots for anesthesia this year (11 advanced, 13 categorical)...
 
If you look at the reports it says there is only 24 unmatched spots in the country.

Not true. If you ranked a prelim and advanced, but only matched into the prelim and NOT the advanced, you may still get the message that you matched. Therefore, you can get the "You matched" message even if you have only 1 of the 4 years set. Per my dean, the details they give you about this vary year by year.

Nope....from NRMP website:

1. Congratulations, you have matched!

This message will be displayed for any applicant who is "fully" matched, including

Applicants who listed and matched to a categorical program.
Applicants who listed and matched to preliminary and advanced programs.
Other conditions also apply. Applicants who listed only advanced programs on their certified rank order lists and did not list any preliminary positions on a supplemental rank order list will receive this message. Similarly, applicants who included only preliminary programs on their certified rank order lists will receive this statement. The matching algorithm considers an applicant "matched" if he/she lists only one program type on his/her certified rank order list. Applicants who receive this message will not have access to the Dynamic List of Unfilled Programs that is posted on Tuesday of Match Week.

So, only way you get this message is if you either fully matched to categorical, matched to a prelim. and advanced....OR, listed ONLY a prelim. program or ONLY an advanced program on your rank list and matched to one of them. So, if you listed both prelim. and advanced programs on your ROL and got this message, then all 4 years are covered 🙂

whew... "Congratulations, you have matched"... Was kinda paranoid there for a second... I called my school... They said I'm good for all 4 years... meaning I matched the prelim year also... Good luck, folks!!!

I wonder how many spots went unmatched last year... 24 for the whole country this year... that's tight.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I just went and looked at last years stats on nrmp's website and it said 25 anes programs went unfilled last year (10 categorical and 15 advanced). For some reason I thought it was more than that.

I was having parasthesias for a bit before i found out. 😱
 
last year there were 53 unfills spots.

I can't put into words how happy I am that I will be an Anesthesiologist. Congrats everybody!!!!!

I can't believe it, but I was actually nervous for you guys after having followed the interview and rank list threads for so long. It's a relief to see that many of you have made it. I can't wait to be in your shoes in 3 years!
 
Are people getting emails or checkin the nrmp website. What is witht he slow emails?

I match guys. I got the "you match but you need a PGY-1" email. this is just because i didnt interview or rank prelim spots (any suggestions?) anyhoo..i'm the club!

I believe you can find out from your dean where you matched at so that you may get ready for the scramble to find a PGY1 spot.

I am in your club too! It is cool because I know where I am going, but I have to find something tomorrow for my first year. Call where you matched for your advanced years and they will probably be able to give you some suggestions or contact. I had ranked 2 TY and a prelim. I am kind of glad I am scrambling because I would rather scramble into something in birmingham than have to move twice.
 
i matched too... don't know where, but we matched (Couples Matched witH Radiology... advanced years for both of us.... could it have been harder?!?!?!)
 
man oh man...

i couldn't take the suspense any more so i went to the gym to blow off some steam around 11:45. Came back at 12:30 and got the "Congratulations! You have matched" sentence. I got so excited I punched a hole through the door to my closet. Oh well, at least I will be making some money next year to pay for that.

I'm starting out today with a couple pints of Guinness and slowly will move my way up to the hard **** on Thursday morning after rounds 👍 Pour out a little liquor to our fallin homies though. Good luck in the scramble.

Finally out of work and able to check my status.... MATCHED somewhere in the Northeast... Congrats to everyone. Now I am off to play some basketball and then to go out partying.
