Hey guys, I'm a senior looking to apply in May. Last night I was in a park with this girl, and I guess we stayed a bit too late and I got cited by the police department for a curfew violation. I've searched it up and it appears to be a township ordinance violation. I'm now pretty worried about this impacting my ability to get in.

Other than that I have a decent app, 3.97, 519 and research, clinical, community service, and leadership. Just really worried about this blacklisting me from schools. Any advice? should I go to court w a lawyer?

I think that this is lower than a misdemeanor and more like a ticket for jaywalking or littering. Read the AMCAS instructions carefully. It is likely that you need not report this as it is the breaking of a very low level rule (you'd not go to jail for something like this but maybe be required to pay a small fine). It sounds like you have a decent application and this is unlikely to derail it.

Find out if this citation is serious enough to report. I agree with LizzyM that your citation was like "not cutting your lawn."

P.S. Most police officers should be intimidating enough to scare you away before they give you a ticket. It's not like they have a quota issuing tickets for staying too late at the park.
