Alright this is a stupid problem, but a problem indeed..

I'm going to be a sophomore pre-med this year. I have Botany, Anatomy, and Organic literally one after the other.

The problem is my backpack is not nearly big enough to hold all three of those books, plus the three binders that I'll also need.

I wont have enough time to get back to my dorm, so I need a bigger backpack..

I'm looking at some of the Swiss ones online, because they're far less expensive off the internet.. I don't however know which one will indeed be big enough.

Anybody have any opinions?

Multiple pockets FTW!

Does your professor requires to have the books during the lecture?
I usually don't carry books, I read them before and after the lecture and during the lecture I just take notes.

Hahah, I'm definitely feeling the Dora one..

I guess I don't know for sure yet, I know for chem I last year I had to take my book each class.. For Anatomy I would assume I will.. As for botany probably not..

That's a good point though, I guess I just don't know for sure right now.

Get a clear book bag so everyone can see all the classes you are taking.

(SDN humor)

Honestly, it doesn't matter. Pick 1 book and rotate. You usually don't need books in class.

The easiest way to spot a freshmen at my school was to look for the kids dragging all their textbooks to class. haha

I stopped taking my binders to class to save space in my backpack. I take notes in 1 subject spiral notebooks then I rewrite the notes and put them in the binders later. I don't take books to class unless it's required.

Unless you're on campus all day with long breaks between your classes, you shouldn't need to bring your books with you. I get by just fine hauling a messenger bag with me, so long as it has a notebook for each class, my planner, my pencil case, and a calculator.

But if you do need to carry all those books around, I'd suggest the Politan.

I just got the SwissGear Synergy backpack and its got quite a bit of room and some nice features, I'd check it out.

Also, bold text, has the universe finally stopped hating you?

what ever you do, don't fall for the swiss-gear propaganda. they make them sound so friggin sweet, but their bulkiness and heaviness make them the worst backpacks.

Oh man I remember first day of freshman year I brought my backpack AND one of those non-plastic shopping bags that you get at bookstores filled with my textbooks for the day. I don't think I looked that dumb because I could have just been returning them when I could I guess.

After that I have never brought a textbook to class unless the prof asked beforehand. The only room you should need in your backpack is for your laptop and notebooks?

Who's who during the first week of school:

Freshman: Carries around all his books in a giant bag(s) to all his classes.

Sophomore: Carries around a pencil and a notebook to all his classes.

Junior: Goes to all his classes, doesn't take anything.

Senior: Doesn't go to class. Seriously, first week of school?

Just so you know who you'll be identified with. In all seriousness though, I can't imagine you actually needing to reference the textbook in class for all of those classes everyday. In fact, even if the professor said to, I think I would refuse to carry around 50 pounds of books.

I bought a North Face backpack - the biggest one that isn't a hiking pack - and have been nothing but pleased with it. I also found out not too long ago that it has a lifetime warranty. Go for it.

good job pointing that out.

OP - Carry your folder for the class and a notebook to take notes. Leave the books at home for reading later...And get a Dakin pack.

My personal preference 😉:

THE MAN BAG!

I wish I could have a messenger bag! I don't know if I'm being serious or not....haha!

Anywa, to address the OP's concern: My rresponse is why in the world would you need to bring all three texts to class? Does the professor say "turn to page.... for this diagram?"

Maybe I'm confused because I go to a state school with 400 people lecture halls...so the whole textbook in class thing is kinda redonk.

one of my 40 year old friedn use this kind of bag for her daughter.
good one. I like it too.
