Hi

I would like to take a survey and ask what is your major and the college you attend. Can anyone rank the medical schools in Texas? By the way I go to the University of Houston and plan to get a B.S. in Nutrition. I am going into my second year this fall. I would like to get advice from Texas medical students or applicants. Do you think I should change my major to Biology? Thanks.

Miss155,
Just to answer your survey I was a Biology major at Abilene Christian University. Two other people from my college will be attending UT Houston with me this fall and their majors were Biochem and Physics. I'll admit the majority of people in my class that were accepted to med/dental school were the typical Biology/Biochem, but there were a couple business and other non-science majors. If I were you, and I enjoyed my major, then I would take the pre-reqs and do well on them, but keep on studying the thing that interested me (in my case Biology interested me the most). As for ranking the medical schools, everyone will admit Baylor and Southwestern are the most prestigious research wise. The other schools are all very close in my opinion and I think whichever one you attend will train you to be a great doctor.

Good Luck!
