I am... in quite a predicament....

So originally I was planning to take the exam June 5th, but I postponed it to July 25th since I was barely breaking 6's across all the sections. Then after a month and half of hard core studying...I've manged to hit a 11 average for biological and Physical.

The problem is, my verbal...I was scoring 8's 3 weeks ago but at that time I stopped focusing on verbal and focused on improving my Physical, which has gone up to a range of 12-13 (thank god for EK 1001). The problem is my verbal has dropped down to a 6 due to lack of practice I believe.

I am a rising senior and my GPA is 3.7 but I am very very scared I wont finish reading all the passages in the verbal section in time. I have heard the passages on verbal are longer than the ones on the AAMC and currently I am utilizing the strategy where I only focus on 6 of the passages and guess on the last one...

Gahhh....I feel like if I cancel this mcat..I would have wasted my summer....>.>....Also the next possible time I could take it would be in January but by that time I would feel more stressed out because if I dont do well on that one...I will have no choice but to take the new one...

Lastly..I have nearly exhausting all my TPR course material and all the AAMCs...excluding 10 & 11...

Take the test. If you do bad you can still sign up for the January test. One poor score followed by a marked improvement won't kill you..

I am leaning towards taking it...but.... What if I choke on the verbal....>.>... I find on the AAMCs I did pretty well on (8, is a good score for me) the passages were a bit shorter. I'm just worried, that I shouldve spent more time improving my reading speed.

Reading speed is almost never the issue with finishing the test on time. My MCAT VR did seem slightly longer than the FLs, but it wasn't too bad. I still finished with a good 3 minutes going through every passage, referring back to passage many times, looking over questions multiple times, etc.

What's your verbal strategy? Are you skimming?
My method consists of doing mapping... But My mapping speed was much faster 3 weeks ago... I stopped doing my mapping exercises 3 weeks ago, in order to improve my Physical section...I have to map on paper otherwise it becomes too hard for me to keep track what's going on in the passage.

you can always void your score if you feel you seriously messed up on verbal

I wouldn't go with your gut feeling on verbal. Plenty of people feel that they rocked it and ended with 7/8's, others have thought they bombed it and ended with 11+. It's definitely the hardest section to predict how you did.

If you've spent your whole summer studying for this thing, take it in July. Otherwise, you risk losing recall for everything you've just studied, plus you'll be busier with classes / other obligations. And then, if you take it in January and don't do so hot, you're stuck with the 2015 version.

That's also another issue...If I void...My parents (asian) will be like: " You're such a spoiled child, * queue additional demoralizing taunts* ".
Seriously, just take it. Spend the next few days working on your mapping speed, and just take the exam. If you reschedule again, I'm sure they'll also have something to say. You can't let them influence your decision.

I think you will do just fine. Foucs, Focus, Focus, on verbal each day up until your test.
I recommend TPRHL verbal.

The problem is, My semester begins in Mid august... And It's too late to post pone now, I will have to re-register..I've set my mind on taking it...I just hope I dont choke on verbal...
