I Need Advice

Ever since I was in high school I wanted to go to med school. I started college as a molecular biology major and really struggled. Partly I think due to psychiatric issues that I have overcome. I switched majors and am going to graduate in December with a major in Marketing and minors in psychology and biology.

I've changed my idea of what I want to do a lot but I keep coming back to medicine, I can't imagine my life without it. I dream of becoming a psychiatrist with a dual MD/MBA. Now I would have to complete a Post Bacc Pre-Med program which is fine I just feel like at 23 with a business degree I missed my chance. Advice??

Welcome to SDN! There are career changers here who have pursued or are pursuing applications to med school in their 40's; if you complain about the age of 23 being so old you "missed your chance," prepare to be smacked.

What is your GPA including all your courses you have taken at any college or university, including prior failures even if you re-took for a better grade? What is your GPA of just biology, chemistry, physics, and math courses? Those are your cGPA and sGPA for MD schools. DO schools replace grades, meaning if you get a D in a class, then re-take and get an A, DO schools only consider the most recent grade for GPA purposes. Where you stand on your GPAs will in large part determine what your options are, and what you need to do to get in somewhere. Have you done any volunteering, shadowing, research, etc? Those can wait until you get your GPA situated, but keep in mind you will need to do the first two for sure, and the third will be helpful at most schools as well (though it is not necessary). Once you give us a little more information, we can offer you better advice.

Well it is always good to pursue your career in a direction you always feel interest. But in your case the things doesn't seems to fall in place. Due to which it is better to listen to your mind instead of listening to yourself only. Since Medical field is not so easy to be dealt with.
