Yes. You get two pencils and about 6 sheets or so of paper, which you can get replenished if you need it. Yes, you can skip questions, mark then and go back!

ok thats good

i heard that at test centers now, they give you a dry erase board or something, size of regular paper. and no more paper....this is the method that is taking over now.

what???!?!?! 😕

make sure you dont freak out and go blank in the middle of the test. especially in the reading section.

"oh my god, what the f**k am i doing. what is this? times ticking....i dont understand this....it's ticking....1 second....2 second.....i'm losing time!!! i should step out of it!! i'm losing time while i'm thinking like this!!oh sh**..ok, lets think. what is the author really trying to say...what? is it B? C? A? 3 second....4 second...f88k!!!!"

damn, that is a nightmare. just thinking about it makes me **** in my pants.

they should just pass out one of those magnet boards that kids play with

I was told pencil and paper is out because those two pieces were being used to help people on the PAT section...angle ranking aid, folding and punching, etc.

There is no way they stopped giving paper due to costs. Paper isn't that expensive....white boards and markers are though!

true... but do you think we should be able to use textbooks on the DAT since we will have them available to us as dentists 😉

and to the whole "paper was getting too expensive" thing... I think $170 should be good for 6 sheets of paper.

no but to be realistic textbooks is really to much to think about during the test

Use your fingers or finger nails then ...

When I took the DAT last October, I was given two dry erase boards with grids and some black markers. This was really annoying because the tips of the markers were so fat that writing too small was too messy, and writing too big led to using up too much of the board space. If I needed more, I had to leave the testing room to exchange my sheets with the proctor. Be sure to exchange your boards during your break, even if you think you have enough space left.
