I've gotten into Drexel, Chicago, and BU and I want to know which one you think will give me the best shot at getting into medical school the next year. My MCATs are only good for one more year!
I've already sent in a deposit to Drexel and it's where I live and am most comfortable. I've heard good things about the program too.
I called Chicago today and they said 52 of 91 students matriculated into their med school the next year. That's a huge percentage! Plus the credits transfer so I wouldn't have to retake the classes.
BU I've heard doesn't like to take students the same year but would prefer them to wait a year to apply.
Oh yeah, and I have yet to hear from Georgetown...
any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

What are the school's names. THere are many med schools in Chicago.

sorry... it's the Finch school in Chicago (Rosalind Franklin), Boston University MA, and Drexel IMS.

I just completed the BU Medical Sciences program, and friends of mine have attended the Drexel and G'town programs. If you are willing to go to any medical school next year, I think your best bet is the Finch program. 52/91 is really awesome. At BU they want us to have a 3.5 in the program and a 30 MCAT (give or take), and even then there are no guarantees. The Georgetown SMP, Drexel, and BU programs have a pretty good track record overall, but they all encourage you to wait for the year of grades before you apply. If you are eager to start medical school right away, go with the Finch AP program. The difference in costs of the programs are negligible (although Drexel's program is a tad less expensive).

I'd go with the Finch program. GU is a great program but hard to actually help you get into their school or any school unless you have decent stats already. Finch, more likely to get in if you do well. I just finished the AP and Chicago Med and got in and my brother did the GU and it took him 3 more years after that before he got in, but not at GU, at SUNY.

Hi Koman,

I was wondering if you could describe the program at Finch for AP. I just got into the program and realized I don't know much about it compared to the other programs I applied to (I just applied in fear that I wouldn't get into any!) Your feedback would help a lot!

Hi Koman,

What kind of stat is a good stat, in your opinion, to be able to get into school by going to GU postbacc? How was your brother?

I went to the Drexel Program so I can really only speak for it.

I would recommend it because it really does get students into medical school. If you live close to philadelphia then go there! I do not think there is much difference between programs to be totally honest. Go to whereever is the most convienent for you.

The professors here are really great and I found the advising to be better than anywhere else. There is a lot of interaction between students and administration and advisors are very helpful.

I've also heard that they are on probation. Has anyone else heard about this and how it will affect the med school?
