I need my comlex level 2 CE score back in exactly 4 wks....plz help!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hi guys,

I have a very urgent concern that I need help with, Im taking my CE (written) april 15th and need it back on or before may 17th in order to graduate.

From your experiences getting back your scores, do you think it could possibly take longer than 4 wks to get the scores back. Ive heard from some recent takers that it took 3 wks to return, but i havent heard about it taking more than 4 wks to return.

I would reschedule it to april 7th but that would allow me a total of 2 wks to study as opposed to 3 wks if I go with the april 15th date.

Please let me know guys, really stressed out about this. Thanks,

Take care,
basha

My school allowed students to walk even if they didn't have their results back yet since residencies only care that you have passed it by July 1st (or whatever their start date may be).

As w/ all COMLEX exams, an extra week will probably not make a difference since the Qs you miss will be mostly d/t their vagueness. Also you have some time b/w now & Apr 7th to make up for the extra week of studying that you will lose by taking it early.

Exams can definitely take longer than 4 weeks, hence our school allowing people to walk (but withholding diplomas until scores were back)

Good Luck

Would just passing Step 2 be ok? Or do you need to do really well on it?
I know that for Step 1, it took 6-7 weeks for my score to come back. I'm taking Step 2 on March 25 and opted not to walk because I didn't know if my scores would be back by our ceremony(May 8th, I think.)
If it were me, I would take it as soon as possible after your PE exam if you just need to pass the exam.(though I'm not saying just passing won't require studying)

Good luck:luck: You are almost a doctor😀.

ETA- Would calling NBOME and asking them be reliable? I'm just guessing on when I will get my scores back and trying to be helpful, I wouldn't put any stock in my advice.

Are you sure scores can take more than 4 wks to come back? I need to have them back exactly on the 17th, no later. It's a special situation.

Also, I cant study now because I have to take my PE, which is on the 20th of this month. So if I take it april 15th, that gives me three weeks of study time, thats 3 weeks along with a pretty tough rotation.

If I have no choice but to reschedule it earlier (april 7th) so I get it back before may 17th, then I'll just have to restructure my study schedule, which originally was to review savarese, secrets and do COMBANK q's for first two weeks and then the third week, just ride it out with UW.

I'm pretty sure it's going to take more than 4wks to get your scores back...

You know your situation better than anyone else, but if I were you, I'd take it earlier to be sure it would be back in time. You've already learned a thing or two about clinical medicine from yoru rotations so it is not like you are starting off knowing absolutely nothing before you begin your formal studying. If anything, I'd spend less time studying for the COMLEX PE and use more of that time for CE review. Even though none of us know how they grade the PE, as long as you use common sense and act professional, you have an excellent chance of passing...and if you do indeed do something that causes you not to pass, it probably isn't a mistake that studying 10 hours a day would have prevented.
I also think that USMLE World is overkill for the COMLEX. My view is that Saverese + COMBANK + one of the review books that you can get through quickly would be completely sufficient, especially since in your case all that matters is passing (it's not like your score matters at this point for residency, unless you are taking off a year).
Good luck!

I took the exam on February 19th and have not yet received my scores. It will be exactly 4 weeks come this Thursday. I'll let you know if I get them back.

Historically, though, they get quicker and quicker with turn around as the year progresses.

EDIT: I just checked the site for scores again (figured why the hell not). Even though the main page is not updated, my scores were up - I PASSSSSSSSEDDD

So I got my scores back exactly 3 weeks 2 days after the exam date, hope that helps and good luck!
