I Need Quick Help!!!

Hello, I messed up this semester really badly, I got sick and could not concentrate on school and ended up with 3 C's (all in Science courses). It dropped my overall gpa to a measly 2.91, but I am taking 3 very easy classes in the summer so my gpa will be around a 3.05 and hoping to score high on DAT. My advisor recommends that I wait until August 16 to apply, but everyone in this forum says to apply as early as possible (may 15)...I have 2 quick questions...1) When would be the best time for me to apply considering my gpa....and...2) Which schools am I most formidable to apply to, except NYU (too expensive)....I also have some things in my favor: I'm Hispanic (born in Mexico), I just finished my second year of college but I have 100 credits to my name, I have over 500+ hours shadowing (in mexico), have a patent pending for an orthodontic instrument, and in high school, I placed 1st in the Nation for a dental assisting competiton (HOSA)....Can anybody help!??!?!?

curious about the ortho instrument.... do tell more?

sorry, lawyer said not to speak a word of it until patent is finalized, which should be in a couple of months. Just know that it will impact the way we look at orthodontics today.

August 16 is the day I will get my scores for Summer II.

i would apply early. you can always send in new transcripts.

the key for getting in, in general, and especially for those of us with lower gpas, me included, is to apply early.

applying late will only decrease your chances.

if i apply early, would i have to send the renewed transcripts to aadsas or to each individual school? also, which schools are you applying to?

If you wait until August to submit your application, AADSAS wont get your GPA calculated until October and probably wont send it out until November. You better submit it as early as possible.
