I want to transfer to a university, im currently in a community college. I'm trying to finish my pre-med classes here at community college and then transfer and get my bachelors at uni. Anyway, i have never really took school seriously and I have a 3.0 gpa. This 3.0 is partly from not studying at all or even reading the book etc. I think I am capable of much more but im getting old and the more I think about it the more I feel behind. I'm currently 22 and I really want to transfer to uni. Last semester I signed up for plant biology but ended up dropping it cause I couldn't keep up with the coursework. So yeah what methods, techniques can I do to stay on top of class and be successful. I try to read the book before and after class but I can't spend the 2 - 3 hours per day studying notes or rewriting them. How do you guys usually spend everyday? Do you guys study, read and if so how many hours per day?

i was a transfer student too. i never took high school seriously and almost dropped out but once your in college, if you dont want to be there than you got to leave- you can do that. you said you cant spend 2-3 hrs per day studying. that right there suggests to me that you are not only not ready for college but you are not ready to be a pre-med either.

you got to mature a little bit, decide if medicine is really what you want AND can do .. then try to get to medical school. it aint going to happen if you aint willing to put your 100% into it. there are just way too many people that are. good luck

I think the best technique(if it can even be called one) is to read/study class notes and the book(for additional info) everyday then review the material on the weekend. Also you need to stay on top of your classes and don't fall behind no matter how late you have to stay up=]

I have to be honest with you. If the prospect of becoming a doctor doesn't motivate you to study AT LEAST 2-3 hours per day, then it cannot be what you are truly passionate about. What worked for me (if you think it truly is your passion) is to find some doctor to shadow regularly. For me, it really reminded me of the light at the end of the tunnel. Like I said though, if that doesn't work, I don't really think you want to become a doctor.
