Hi everyone,
I applied to walgreens as a Pharm Tech via their website, and I went today and finished my assessment at a walgreens store. What else can I do so that I can stand out. Should I go to every chain and strike up a conversation with the pharmacist or manager? I am open to any suggestions.
Thanks For reading🙂

Hey there!
I can't answer your question, but I too applied at my local Walgreens for a pharm tech job and I am going today to finish the assessment. what is it exactly? is it hard? there are like 5 or 6 walgreens surrounding me and so so i just go to anyone of them and finish it? or do i go to the pharmacy area and ask them?
I need help also!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😱
I hope we both get in!👍

Do you go to a university that hosts job fairs for students and alumni? There was one at my school and a couple of district level guys from Walgreens were there, along with Target and many other companies. I talked to them and they took my resume, which I think helped me get my job. Good luck!

i just went to the walgreens close to home, even though on the application I selected within 15 miles. And I am not certified. Do i need to have any experience to be certified? What do I have to do to get certified?

I don't think you have to have experience to get certified. I'm in Florida and I basically just went to the PearsonVue website, found the section for "Pharmacy Technician Certification Board" and went from there. Working for Walgreens, they paid for it. Otherwise, I am not sure of the cost but I'm sure the website will tell you... Hope this helps... 🙂http://www.vue.com/ptcb/ Feel free to send my a PM too

Getting hired w/o certification depends on their need for pharm techs, how you present yourself etc.

Walgreens trains you if you haven't been certified and they pay for the certification test as well.

Thanks everyone,
I live in Illinois and I went to the Dept. of Financial and Professional Regulation website and filled out a form. After filling it out and paying $43 via credit/debit card I have my temporary license, and my permanent license come in the mail. For those in Illinois the link is https://www.idfpr.com/applications/onlinelicensing/ and just go from there🙂
