I have the bare minimum number of LOR my pre-med committee requires for the committee letter (science LOR, LOR in your major which is economics, and a third miscellaneous LOR which I got from a boss. I've been shadowing a DO for a while, and I assume I'll likely be able to get a LOR from that, but that will not be part of my committee packet due to time constraints.

Assuming I obtain a committee letter, will I be all set with just one science LOR, as most schools seem to state you need to have a committee letter OR two science LOR, etc., etc.. I know schools like MWU only requires one science LOR and a LOR from physician. UNECOM says that you need two academic LOR preferably in the science and one from a professional.

Considering I have fairly strong stats, will I be negatively affected by only having one science LOR in my committee packet?

That's how most schools are. My school recommends a committee letter, science LOR, two other EC letters. However, to get a committee letter at my school you have to have good enough stats for them to think you can get in (won't get one if you are an underdog). For me since I couldn't get one, I have to have two academic science LOR, one academic nonscience LOR, and two or three EC letters (which in my case will be a MD, DO, and a volunteer supervisor)

Also the LOR from an econ professor would be nonscience.

LOR requirements vary widely and are completely dependent on the individual school. Go to the website of the schools you are applying to and see what they require. You may even find that you don't need to go through the hassle of your pre-med committee if you already have LORs from other sources. If you have the committee letter, you probably don't need to worry about LORs from individual professors.

I'm confused when you say you need letters of recommendation to get a letter of recommendation from the committee. Why even bother with the committee letter if you already have LORs?

Some schools do require it, mine did too I think. If you are a top student with like a 3.8/35 with amazing ECs and great letters from your professors, your committee letter will be incredible because they also interview you a few times to help them strengthen their letter. However, a lot of the levels of recommendation at my school for the committee is numbers based (high GPA, high MCAT tend to get the best letters as long as they have decent to good ECs).
