I basically forgot to indicate my residency status. I am a permancent resident at CA, but I forgot to put this information under my biographic information which means I am assumed to be an international student. The hard copies have already mailed out to schools on 7/2/2010. The good thing is that my residency is indicated correctly to schools that required secondary apps (UCSF, UCLA, Western U).

I know the admission chance dramatically drops once you're not a citizen or a permanent resident (even for some private schools) and I feel like I screwed up a BIG time. I tried to call each school to see how I can fix this mess and they said I can just send a letter with the green card information and they will update the file. So far I was able to secure 3 interviews (Case, Midwestern, UNLV) but I don't get how big of trouble I am in right now.

BTW My question is ... do schools make difference between Out-of-State applicant and International applicant? Out of 18 schools that I applied, 10 of them were Non-California State school which means I'm an out-of-state applicant anyway. If the schools don't distinguish between those two, I don't see the worth of hassling around and trying to fix this mess.

Any idea?

Yes, Non Private schools make a distinction between OOS versus International but for Private schools it is all the same.

If you call AADSAS, I think they can fix it for you. I called in to fix something on a section that was listed as unchangeable after submission and they fixed it for me. They then will mail out your updated app in the next available mailing date and schools should see that updated info. Good luck!

Call AADSAS ASAP.
