Hey everyone. Just wanted to get some advice as to how I should proceed in this frustrating process...
My stats are: cGPA 3.86 sGPA 3.76 MCAT 511 on 7/17/15 (took it twice before and got 26 both times). This MCAT score was released mid August but most of my secondaries were in by then anyways (submitted primary early june). I havent heard back from most schools besides 2 DO interviews. Any advice?? I know I'm not a perfect applicant but I was hoping to hear back from more schools by now...

I'm only getting concerned because I know of people whose apps were in after mine and have lower stats and are getting interviews

I don't think that's how it goes... 😕

On an unrelated note, OP should really ditch his/her Xanax habit...
No bud, it's definitely an overdose of the valium salt lick.

If I'm getting anxious about this wouldn't I need to up my Xanax habit...

I'm not on drugs or legitimately freaking out I was simply asking for some friendly advice or feedback but thanks anyways guys

Give us a school list if you want some genuine advice.

I'm from Florida so I applied everywhere here (Miami UF FAU FAU UCF FIU FSU), UAB, Temple, Drexel, Thomas Jefferson, NYMC, Albert Einstein, Rosalind Franklin, Emory (it's a reach but figured why not) and several DO... got interview at lecom and nova

If it makes you feel better, I'm also from Florida, and I only heard from one school I applied to, but got accepted there. Still have some time to hear from others, and 2 interviews is pretty good...

Thanks just wanted to see if sending updates would help the process move along or any other suggestions for this cycle
You titled this thread "I though I was a competitive applicant but not hearing back from schools... help!!"

Just what kind of help are you looking for? Your application is in, the die have been cast. Reviewing anything at this point is simply a pointless exercise. It will not change anything. There is no action you can take. There is nothing, nothing that can be done this term. Unless you want to accept the possibility that rejection is coming and prepare a reapplication, what is the goal here. Of course, if you prepare for a reapplication and you get in, it will not impact you at all.

My point to this seemingly harsh post is look forward. There is no reason to look back unless you are going to use it going forward

OP, please post your ECs.
Involved in several clubs during undergrad, tutored, volunteered at hospitals, shadowed many doctors. Did research at a cancer research lab starting in high school through senior year of college. This year I'm working with a doctor as her scribe and research assistant as well as volunteering in the hospital
