Hello everyone,

As a sophomore I took a BCPM course for fun. Also as a junior I took a Humanities course for fun. I was interested in the professors and the subject matter and that is why I decided to take these courses even though I could not fully commit to them because of my other courses. I did pass both of these courses.

After being verified today I realized that maybe this was a bad thing. There certainly is nothing I can do about it now, but going forward should I explain this or let it be?

Also just so I can pass along the message to others is it bad to take a BCPM or any subject course P/F?

Thank you!

Oh and I did search the forums to see if there were similar threads regarding this topic. There were but I really could not gauge an answer to this question.

It's bad to take a core pre-req course pass/fail, but otherwise, it should be fine.

As long as they weren't prereqs you're fine. Nothing to worry about.

Great thank you! Also I just did a google search and this site came up: http://www.brynmawr.edu/healthpro/documents/MedSchlAdvanScienReq_2014.pdf

For University of Arizona (the first school on there) they list Molecular Biology as one of there

"2 courses from the following: cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, general biology, physiology, anatomy,
microbiology, histology or virology "

I have completed 2 courses from that list besides Molecular Biology. Can I still apply to this course even though I took Molecular Bio P/F? Since I have completed their requirement: I have taken microbiology and virology I think I should be good, but I just want to be certain. 38$ is a lot for me!

Great thanks again! Okay so taking courses P/F is okay as long as they aren't requisites. I will pass along the message to my sister and anyone else who is ever curious!

More or less, I'd think. You don't want to give the impression you're taking hard courses as P/F in order to avoid messing up your GPA, but if you have 1-2 of them on your transcript I wouldn't worry about it one bit.
