I just took DAT and need your honest opinion. I'm not sure if I can get into any school with this score:

PAT 21
QC 20
RC 17
Bio 18
GC 20
OC 17
TS 18
AA 18

I wish I would have done better but this is it for now. 🙁 Do you think I should retake? Which school might take me in?

Thank you for your advice!

you have a great GPA, so you should get in somewhere... key word is should.

however, your GPA suggests that you can perform better than an 18...so i would suggest a retake. getting a 20+ would almost guarantee you an offer if you can hold your own at an interview.

good luck, jb!🙂

You have a HIGHER or EQUAL DAT score than most school averages and a higher GPA than all school averages..........you will get in.

PAT 21 is amazing, I wouldn't retake at all. SDN members are overachievers.

since when is an 18 higher than most schools averages?? you're providing very wrong information to the OP...you may want to pick up a copy of the 45th edition of the ADEA Guide to Dental Schools...

btw, Most schools averages are between 19-20..

also, your RC is low and schools pay A LOT of attention to this section, trust me from experience.

Just to give you some positive feedback, I made an 18AA/18TS/15PAT and had a 3.8 GPA when I applied. I think if you have some good extracurriculars, you should be able to get in somewhere, but don't put all your eggs in one basket... apply to a lot of schools.

His "lower" 18 will be overlooked by the 21
