When I took math stats I was taking way too many credits so I got a D. Psyc Stats I got B+, how will grad schools view this situation? Do I choose which one gets constituted as a pre-req?

I'm going through the same situation. Got a D in Biostats my freshman year and an A in Psyc Stats this past semester.

Wish I could be of more help, hope someone answers this for both our sakes!

I took stats through the psychology department and it was fine. You will always get the most correct and comprehensive answer by contacting the schools you are interested in when it comes to pre req requirements.

Yep, I took two different stats classes and have emailed programs to see how they handled it. If they accept both classes, many will take the higher grade. Of course always check with the specific school though.

This was the case for me except for certain psych classes.. I had a 2.0 in my Child Psychology class due to a grievance issue that still ticks me off to this day..(ill write the story below for those interested..lol) But then I got a 4.0 for my Family Development Across the Lifespan class. But were needed for my degree but found out later that the Family Development class could be used for my pre-reqs instead of Child Psych for the Psych Development requirement....THANK GOD...

STORY TIME (for those interested..undergrads might learn something here too): So this Child Psych class...I will say first off that the professor was a very nice guy...but very unfair. The whole grade in the class depended on two exams and a project (so basically, if you fail your midterm, you've already failed the class)...This was the only class that was setup like this. Usually, It's 3-4 exams plus projects, homework assignments, etc. Well, fortunately (OR SO I THOUGHT), he had an opportunity for extra credit! This extra credit consisted of a full out 10-12 page research paper...A pretty big time consuming project for extra credit. According to the syllabus, it was SUPPOSE to give 4% extra credit. By the end of the semester, I was just a point or two into the 3.0 range so I was expecting a 3.0. I received a 2.0. I wasn't the only one this happened to..there were 2 other students who were in my shoes that I knew of. They weren't as concerned with it as they weren't intending on grad school. I was extremely shocked and emailed the professor continuously over winter break. He ignored me for about a month before I got an answer. He said that by his calculations that I had received a 2.0. Well, according to his calculations, my extra credit paper was only 0.4% and NOT 4%. Thats a pretty HUGE difference and I am sure you all know that 0.4% isn't going to do a thing to your grade. According to this professors scale, that 4%-0.4% was indeed enough to take me from barely above a 3.0 to SLIGHTLY below a 2.5 putting me at a 2.0. After another month of arguing with him about it and careful reading of the syllabus, he admitted to me that the syllabus was suppose to state that extra credit is 0.4% instead of 4%..so it WAS a typo. He stated that there was nothing he could do at this point and admitted to me that he would have bumped me up to a 2.5 if I contacted him sooner...Seriously?! The nerve. At this point, I am well into the next semester trying to focus on other classes. I decide to go over his head and file a grievance issue at the recommendation of my own advisor. I was told to go the the Ombudsman of the psychology department. Of course, this individual sided with the professor and said it is a typo and that a typo is not grounds for filing a grievance issue... Then what exactly is a grievance issue?? lol At this point, I did not know where else to turn. My own advisor thought it was very wrong but did nothing about it. I had to accept my fate that I was royally screwed out of a full letter grade...Anyways, if your reading this, thanks for listening to my rant...haha It need to be told! :-D
