Before you say oh you should of studied or done the hw over and over. I did that. Looked at all the professors examples did the study guide, homework, watched some videos on khan academy.
The questions were ones i had never seen on the hw or lecture examples. I felt i was goin to ace this test but i completely blanked out on 2 - 3 questions which is like 30 points right there.
My professor has a reputation for being a hard ass and none of his exams correlating with the hw, lecture material. I needed this class and he was the only one teaching but damn I can't drop this course.

If 2-3 questions are 20-30 pts, how many other questions were there, and how many points total? Why did you blank out? Did you cram the night before, or was it just nerves? Find out what the problem was, and work toward fixing it. Good Luck! I know it sucks to get a poor grade when you work hard.

I think it was out of a 100 and 8 questions or 9. But yeah no it wasn't nerves. I just hadn't seen these problems before and didn't really know how to approach them.

I blanked on my ochem exam yesterday trying to draw C6H14 with two tertiary carbons. I spent like 8 minutes trying to draw it, and gave up to finish the rest of the exam before running out of time. Chin up, it happens to the best of us.

Same thing happened to me on Physics test last week lol. You just got to break down each question. There's a general underlying pattern in their questions that are similar to what you did in class.

you should have studied. you should have got a sick note.

I do it when I feel scared of a certain test, and then I prepare more.

I dont make a habit out of it, but the Doc always says I got a viral infection.

There is no way really to determine if one has a viral infection.

If you say you have a stomach ache, a doctor will usually say you have a viral infection.

But next time, embrace the power of a sick note. It is the difference between a C and an A

I almost always blank on at least 2-3 (often easy) questions in an exam. Best thing to do: Move on to the rest of the questions, and once you've paced yourself throughout the exam enough, come back to those questions.

Lol, no.

How much is your co-pay on that appointment?

False.

I have three test this week and on my second I blanked on three easy questions. I didn't notice till this week that all my test are all in the same week, makes studying difficult -_-

One of my favorite professors after I screwed up a midterm: "If you go to graduation and ask everyone who has tanked a midterm or final at least once in college to raise their hand, almost everyone will."

Do better during the remainder of the course, and you should be alright. Also, go to office hours, talk to your professor, and see how you could have done better. In one of my math classes where I did poorly on the first midterm, my professor agreed to drop it if I improved by a letter grade on the 2nd midterm and final.

this indicates that you actually know, conceptually, much less than you thought you did. study harder.

I had something similar happen during calc last semester.

The test was two pages long, with 5 questions on each page. I looked through the first page and almost literally crapped my pants because I had forgotten how to work the problems.

I turned to the last page almost ready to give up and it clicked. I ended up finishing the exam in like 20 minutes.

The point of my story? I got a 100% on that exam. Better luck next time.

Like a boss 👍

But really, just move on and dominate the final (or second midterm). Get older tests (very helpful, and sometimes eerily similar to tests) and go to office hours if u don't understand stuff

...🙂 Silly things happen 👍

I blanked out on my math exam. I totally forgot everything as soon as I saw the questions. I just do not like math. argh

Same thing with me. Two days ago had my first Calc. test and failed. I completely blanked on several problems that would normally be so easy... I wasn't nervous, I just couldn't get my mind in the zone at that particular time, plus I was supposed to be at work 50 minutes after the test STARTED! Didn't have time to do practice questions so that I could re-take the test (I seriously considered calling out of work just to re-take the test but with two children to take care of, bills, and PAYING MY OWN MOTHER WEEKLY to watch the kids 4 days per week, I just couldn't skip work) and my overall class grade plummeted... Luckily, I still have 5 more tests before the semester is over and several more quizzes.

I normally don't get home from work until about 10:30pm and have to wake up at 6:30am for school. The past few night I've been staying up studying/doing homework til 2:30-3:30am just to make sure I get everything to the best of my knowledge. I know proper sleep is important as far as doing well in school goes but night-time is really my only "free-time"" to get any school things done. It also doesn't help that my wife get pissed because of my lack to "sufficient" time to spend with her...

Ahh, tis life...

Just do whatever it takes to do the best that you possibly can at any, and every, thing n life. It will pay off in the end.
